In the Tennis Challenge of the Swiss Indoors in cooperation with IWB, personal data are processed exclusively for the purposes described below.

4.1 Registration and participation

The registration data collected are used in order to:

1. Identify the participants uniquely.
2. Create a personal participation ID.
3. Organise participation at the court.
4. Assign results correctly.
5. Bring together several permitted attempts by the same person.
6. Prevent abusive multiple registrations and manipulation.
7. Send organisational information about the challenge.

Registration and participation are free of charge.
Consent to marketing communication is not a condition of participation.

4.2 Conduct and evaluation of the challenge

The Tennis-Volley-Challenge takes place on a court of approximately 5 x 10 metres.
Participants play for 30 seconds at a time together with a tennis coach from TIF Tennis Academy GmbH.
The aim is to play as many valid volleys over the net as possible.
The valid rallies are counted by hand.
After an attempt, authorised event staff record the result digitally and assign it to the personal participation ID.
During opening hours, participants may try again as often as they wish.
Only the best valid result within the relevant competition period counts for the leaderboard.

4.3 Public leaderboard

The recorded results are used to create and continuously update a public leaderboard.
The public leaderboard shows only the following details:
1. First name
2. Initial of the last name
3. Personal participation ID
4. Best valid result
5. Place on the leaderboard

EXAMPLE:

RankNameIDPoints
2Max M.00124549

A freely chosen display name is not provided.
The full last name, the e-mail address, the telephone number and other personal contact details are not published.
The public leaderboard serves solely to present the competition results and the sporting ranking.
Publication takes place under the terms of participation and is made transparent to participants before registration.

4.4 Determination of winners

The winners are determined on the basis of the valid results and the official rules.
There are two separate competition periods.

Phase 1

24 to 29 October 2026

5 x 2

The five participants with the highest valid results each win two final tickets for the Swiss Indoors Basel on Sunday, 1 November 2026.

Phase 2

2 x 2

The two participants with the highest valid results each win two VIP box tickets for the final of the Swiss Indoors Basel on 31 October 2027.

Only the valid results achieved within the relevant competition period are taken into account.
If scores are tied, a draw decides the award of a prize.

4.6 Marketing and customer communication

On registration, participants can voluntarily decide whether they wish to receive information from Swiss Indoors AG and/or IWB Industrielle Werke Basel in future.
Consent is obtained separately for each organisation.

IWB Industrielle Werke Basel

Where consent has been given, the contact details provided may be used to send information about offers, services, promotions, events and competitions of IWB.
Participation in the Tennis-Volley-Challenge is possible independently of these marketing consents.
Consents that have been given can be withdrawn at any time, free of charge and with effect for the future.

Authorised persons can export the required data as a CSV file for further processing.

The export may contain the following information in particular:

  • Number of registrations
  • Number of actual participations
  • Number of attempts made
  • Distribution of the results

There is no automatic technical interface to the CRM systems.
The data export and the subsequent transfer are carried out by authorised persons.
Swiss Indoors AG and IWB each receive only the data that they may process for their defined tasks or on the basis of the corresponding consent.
Consent to marketing given to one organisation does not entitle the other organisation to use those data independently for marketing purposes.

8.4 Documentation of marketing consents

Consents to marketing communication are documented independently of the other registration and competition data.
The documentation includes in particular the organisation concerned, the consent status, the time of the consent and the version of the underlying consent text.
These details are kept for as long as necessary to demonstrate that the data were processed lawfully. Statutory retention and evidence duties remain reserved.

8.5 Technical log data

Technical log data are processed where this is necessary for secure operation, error analysis and protection of the digital challenge platform.

8.6 Data for marketing purposes

Personal data that have been transmitted to Swiss Indoors AG or IWB Industrielle Werke Basel on the basis of a valid marketing consent may be further processed by the entitled organisation in accordance with the purposes communicated.
Retention follows the applicable data protection provisions of the respective organisation.
A marketing consent can be withdrawn at any time. After withdrawal, the data concerned are no longer used for the corresponding marketing communication, unless another legal basis permits further processing.
